‘Why a mid-life career change can be as good as a rest’ – FT headline December 2023

In a nutshell

One-to-one coaching for those who are looking for a mid-life career shift. Step outside yourself to reflect on your successes so far, identify your transferable skills and work out what you want to do for the next stage of your life.

Why?

You may have come to the end of one stage of your working life via redundancy or retirement, or you may just have an urge to use your talents elsewhere. If you’ve worked in the same area for many years, you may wonder what else is out there and how you can find it. You may desire a better life/work balance or crave indulging a long-buried interest. You may want to ‘give something back’.

Who is it for?

People in any industry or discipline who are contemplating a change. Those who want to unlock their hidden potential, change their work/life balance or find fulfilment in a different area. People who want to redirect their energy and launch a new phase of life.

How does it work?

The coaching is tailored to your specific needs with an upfront agreement of what you want to achieve. We start with an assessment of your career so far and extract your key successes and strengths. We focus on your positive achievements and work out what is you want to achieve in the next phase. We review your values and what changes you would like to make in your life. We set new goals and make a plan of how to get there. We ask the tough questions and offer direct and pragmatic advice. You do the work, we guide and support you.

What will I get out of it?

An opportunity to reflect on your career so far in an objective and positive way, working out what you have enjoyed and what you would like to leave behind. A chance to summarise and close one chapter and open a new one. New goals and a specific action plan to help you achieve them, with support to get there. Finally – a new stage in life will begin!

‘you will be astonished to learn that next week will be the 5th anniversary of my accreditation in the new career! I’m glad to say that things are going well and work/life balance is good’
